It's that time of year to get the camper all ready to go and that's just what we did! Every Memorial weekend we leave and go camping. Usually we go up on the west end of the reservoir in Island Park but this year we decided to go to Kilgore. After getting the camper all packed with all the essential camping things and all the kids and animals taken care of, we were off! We found a quiet little place near Pete Creek. Immediately the kids set off exploring!
Bryndi with her partly finished fort.
Britton with his arrowhead that he found...lucky little fella! Oh and he also found another one just before we left to come home on Monday.

Bradyn playing on the fence next to our camper.

Rowdy just being a stud!
Unfortunately we didn't get to be outside as much as we wanted to this weekend. The weather did exactly what the weatherman had predicted....rain, sunshine, rain, sunshine and SNOW!! Saturday evening it decided to snow on us. It felt as if we should have been up trying to find a Christmas tree rather than camping in May! Dad, Brittney(step-sister) and her husband Nate came up to go fishing and to eat with us Saturday night. This is what it looked like when it first started snowing.

This is what it looked like when it had quit snowing. It was so pretty and WHITE!

Britton's 9th birthday was Sunday. Most of the family came up to celebrate it with us. We had an awesome dinner....dutch oven chicken and potatoes and some yummy salads and of course birthday cake. And Britton got spoiled rotten with some pretty fun birthday gifts. Thanks everyone for coming up and braving the weather to help make Britton's birthday a fun one!

We got him this BB gun, which he has really enjoyed.

Grandpa Bern and Grandma Diane gave him a really nice fishing pole and tackle and other fun stuff.

The Murri's gave him a big styrofoam plane and the Hillman's gave him a bunch of fun things to play with and tomatoes to eat. Britton loves tomatoes, way to go Hillman's for making his day! Everyone had to gather around Britton while Rowdy tried to light the candles on his cake. The wind was kinda making it hard to keep the candles lit.
After making a wish he tried to blow out the candles....it took a couple times! So much for that wish Mort!!
All in all it was a pretty fun weekend even with the wet, windy weather! Those are the times we remember the most! I hope you all had a great weekend and created some of your own fun memories!

Brrrr! What a crazy weekend. I'm glad you had campers to help keep you somewhat warm. I don't know if I could handle that! Happy B-day Britton. Looks like you really got spoiled.
Those are fun memories and those are the ones they will remember! The snow did look beautiful even though it was the end of May! You never know what we will get around here!
