I don't know how many of you out there have a dog or dogs, like in my case, but they never fail to amuse me! Many of you have already met Hank, our totally deaf and half blind Austrailian shephard. And who can forget our ever faithful, loving Heidi, who has been around for seven years, oh and has a slight weight problem. Our newest member to the Rigby farm of dogs is Kadee. Kadee is my birthday puppy from Dad and Diane.....thanks again by the way! What an unexpected surprise but a great one!! Kadee is a little black lab puppy and is so much fun.
She is so mellow and content. It has been a big change after getting used to Hank and his "special qualities". It is so nice to be able to hollar at Kadee and have her respond. Whereas with Hank you spend half the time trying to line yourself up on his good side and wave your arms so that there may be a slight chance that he sees you and responds!

While we're on the subject of Hank....just before Christmas Hank got hit by a pickup. It was one of those deals that you know is going to happen but have absolutely no control in stopping it. Hank always had a problem running out in the road to chase us whenever we left somewhere. Well this one particular day he decided to do just that. It just so happened that a pickup was coming from the opposite direction we were going. Perfect timing....Hank on road, pickup there to meet Hank! We turned around to go assess the situation, knowing that we were gonna have to go bury Hank. As Rowdy talked to the poor fella that hit Hank, Hank decided that he wasn't going to Heaven just yet. He sat up in the road, trying to gather his few senses that he has. Long story short....it took a couple days before Hank was walking straight but he is absolutely fine...well Hank fine! I think it jarred something loose in his little head and now caused an OCD problem with running through the yard chasing invisible bunnies or kitties or whatever little critter Hank wants to chase. ALL day long Hank runs. He has super highways through the yard! We have to tie him up just to give himself a break! Nonetheless we love Hank and all his crazy little perks. Heidi and Kadee just sit on the steps and watch patiently as Hank makes his rounds...over and over again! What would we do without our dogs!!

And from the mouth of Heidi....."Kids these days!"

What a cute new puppy! You look beautiful in that picture! Have fun with your new pup, Kadee!
Isn't it funny how we get so attached to our animals AND how sometimes those dogs will take on human traits! We have one that we swear is half human. Anyways I think they are all unique and cute (Heidi with the dingleberries I don't know but still cute). Have fun with the new puppy!
I'm glad you have a new lab. Destry keeps threatening to leave one on my doorstep. I said no more dogs. It is too sad when you have to put them to sleep or they get killed. It's like losing a family member. I love your darling background and picture of your kids at the top.
You are my Hero! I wish I had 3 dogs!!! But only one and the moment!! :)
